Bringing Data to Life: Introducing Aize’s Data Activation Guides

November 21, 2025 2 minute read

Aize launches new guides to help teams prepare and unlock the power of their asset data for use in a digital twin. Practical, useful information based on Aize's experience of creating digital twin visualisations for some of the world's most complex heavy assets.

For digital twins to deliver real value, they need more than just data. They need context, structure, and purpose. That’s what Aize’s new Data Activation Guides are designed to provide.

Over years of working with customers, our Delivery team has seen the same challenge repeatedly: even the most advanced digital platforms depend on the quality and readiness of the data that feeds them. Teams often start with large volumes of engineering, document, and model data, but struggle to bring it together in a way that’s usable and consistent. The result? Valuable, actionable insights remain locked away.

The Data Activation initiative was born from that experience. It’s a practical effort to make the onboarding process smoother, more predictable, and more successful for our customers.

From Experience to Guidance

The guides draw directly from lessons learned across multiple projects. Each one focuses on a key data domain (3D models, documents and data, reality capture) and explains exactly what’s needed to bring that data to life in Aize.

Guides multiple

Rather than offering abstract theory, the guides are built from real-world examples. They show what good-quality inputs look like, highlight common pitfalls, and share practical tips for structuring and aligning data across disciplines. They help teams avoid the confusion and delays that can slow down digital twin onboarding.

Each guide follows a clear, repeatable structure: it outlines the purpose and value of the data type, describes what’s included, and offers recommendations for formats, metadata, and alignment. Readers will also find examples of how that data becomes interactive once it’s activated inside Aize, bridging the gap between preparation and practical application.

Building a Foundation for Success

We believe that technology is only one part of what makes a digital twin work. The other crucial elements are data and people. Our Delivery team plays a central role in bringing these together. We help customers establish a realistic data baseline, align expectations, and co-create a deployment path that delivers early value while setting the stage for long-term growth.

The Data Activation Guides extend that same philosophy to a broader audience. They empower project engineers, document controllers, IT leads, and operations teams to start preparing their data with confidence, even before an onboarding project begins.

By following the recommendations, teams can reduce uncertainty, speed up activation, and ensure everyone works from a shared understanding. The result is a smoother path to a connected digital twin that enables user across the company (and their partners) to get usable and valuable insights.

Seeing the Bigger Picture

The value of a digital twin comes from how it brings together different types of information (engineering drawings, 3D models, documents, tag data and more) into one navigable environment. When these elements align, users can see their facilities as a whole, not as fragmented systems. The guides make this concept tangible by showing how each dataset contributes to that complete picture.

As customers start applying the principles, they begin to see data not as a static asset, but as something alive: constantly informing decisions, improving collaboration, and supporting operations.

What’s Next

The launch includes four guides, each focusing on a foundational data domain. Future releases will explore additional datasets, best practices, and interactive examples that illustrate what good data looks like in action.

Our goal is simple: to make data activation more accessible, predictable, and valuable for everyone, helping teams move from isolated information to an integrated, intelligent digital twin.
