Aize acquires Samp, connecting engineering data with physical reality

The acquisition combines Aize's engineering and operational platform with Samp's reality-based digital twin technology, creating a comprehensive approach to industrial asset information from greenfield to brownfield.

OSLO/PARIS (02.09.26) – Industrial software company Aize has acquired French industrial AI company Samp, bringing together complementary technologies, teams and visions for how industrial companies work with complex asset information.

The combination will address industrial assets across their full lifecycle – from newer, greenfield facilities built around comprehensive CAD and engineering models to decades-old brownfield assets where technical information is often scattered, incomplete or outdated.

Samp has developed Shared Reality, an AI-powered platform that transforms reality-capture data, such as laser scans, into structured asset information and connects what physically exists in the field with engineering information such as tags, drawings and P&IDs. Shared Reality provides the missing link between scattered, incomplete and outdated technical information and the reality of the field.

Samp's technology is already deployed across more than 500 industrial facilities, with a strong focus on Energy and Water. Aize is used by leading companies across the energy sector, including BP, ExxonMobil, SBM Offshore, Aker BP and Aker Solutions, to bring engineering, operational and asset information together in one digital working environment.

From engineering design to physical reality

Aize and Samp approach industrial information from complementary starting points. For newer assets, Aize builds on rich CAD and engineering models and connects them with operational and enterprise information. For existing brownfield assets, Samp starts from the reality of the field, using AI to create a structured 3D representation and connect it with existing technical information.

Together, the companies can address the full spectrum of industrial assets and projects: greenfield and brownfield, CAD-based and reality-based digital twins, and engineering-centric as well as operations and maintenance-centric workflows.

The two companies also share a common product DNA: a 3D-first visual approach to contextualising technical information; an open ecosystem philosophy, acting as the glue between existing systems and data; and a strong focus on end users, lean user experience and rapid adoption across engineering, operations, maintenance and project teams.

Aize will continue to focus on software and will be working with specialist reality-capture partners to provide scan data that can be transformed and contextualised using Samp technology.

The acquisition comes as Aize prepares for the general availability of its next-generation platform by the end of 2026, with a redesigned user experience, improved performance and a more seamless way for industrial teams to work across 3D assets, engineering drawings and industrial information.

Together, Aize and Samp aim to become the category leader for reality-checked industrial asset information – providing a trusted digital foundation across the entire asset lifecycle, from engineering and construction through operations, maintenance and transformation.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
