Meet Our New Aizers – Our Tech, UX and HR Teams Are Expanding

Written by Leigh Nichols | June 29, 2021

We’re welcoming new people to our offices every month, and couldn’t be happier about it!

In May, we’ve had a total of 18 new Aizers joining our tech, finance, product, UX and HR teams. We’ve had a chat with some of them to hear their thoughts on the new industries we’re entering, what brought them to Aize and, of course, their childhood dreams.

Have a read to get to know them better!

Alessandro Andrea, Senior UX Designer

Home country: Italy

Education: BA (Hons) Communication Design at Gray’s School of Art, part of Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Childhood dream: Become an astronaut or the prime minister, or manage to crack quantum computing.

 – How did you end up working at Aize?

I live in Aberdeen, so I was naturally drawn in by the energy sector. I began my career as a graphic designer, but I quickly realised how I could bring the user-friendliness of consumer apps to software for heavy-asset industries. Aize is on a mission to develop the most innovative solutions in this industry, and I wanted to become a part of that vision.

 – How have your first days at Aize been?

Onboarding proved to me that Aize is a vibrant, international and forward-thinking environment. Over three days, I had the opportunity to meet Aizers based across Norway, the UK and beyond.

The exec team is really approachable, open to new ideas, and genuinely cares about their employees. I was impressed by how team building and wellbeing play such a big role at Aize!

 – What are your thoughts on Aize entering new verticals, such as the renewables industry?

Over the last few years, I have seen a genuine ‘green wave’ that is now revolutionizing the energy sector. The big players in the market are increasingly focusing on sustainable sources of energy and I am confident that Aize’s investment into renewables technology will soon pay back.

Carlos Chavez, 28, Software Developer

Home country: Colombia

Education: BFA Classical Music at University of Stavanger & Full-Stack Development at Stockholm School of Applied Technology.

Childhood dream:
I wanted to be a literature writer. I almost fulfilled my dream, as I’m writing a lot (of code).

– How did you end up working at Aize?

I liked the company's values and vision, and decided to contact them - I’m really happy I did that!

– How have your first days at Aize been?

I was lucky enough to meet several people in the Oslo office, but we had many online meetings so everyone could join from abroad. The best part was seeing how excited everyone was to welcome us as new Aizers. Everyone was delighted to answer whatever question I had during the sessions.

– What are your thoughts on Aize entering new verticals, such as the renewables industry?

The fact that Aize is entering the renewables industry was definitely something that attracted me, as I believe it’s vital for humanity to explore new sources of sustainable energy.

Aize will play an important role in this revolution, and I want to give my best contribution to this journey.

Jenny Bjørlien Raknerud, 27,
Human Resources Associate

Home country: Norway

Education: BA in Human Resource Management from Oxford Brookes University

Childhood dream:
I’ve always wanted to study in Australia - I ended up doing my studies in the UK, and I think my mom was quite happy to have me so close to Norway!

– How did you end up working at Aize?

The culture was certainly a driver for applying! A friend of mine that works as a developer at Aize told me a lot about the company, and it just seemed like a really positive and motivating place to work.

– How have your first days at Aize been?

From day one, people have been really helpful in showing me around and answering all my questions, so getting settled in has been very easy. It was so nice to meet people in person - you’re met with a smile everywhere you go!

I liked that we did the onboarding as a group so that we got to know new colleagues at the same time.

– What are your thoughts on Aize entering new verticals, such as the renewables industry?

I believe renewables will play a big role in the future, so it is very motivating to work for a company that is entering the renewables industry. I am looking forward to being a part of that journey with Aize!

We hope you liked our Aizers as much as we do.
